Activities

The location of the lodge allows guests to enjoy a variety of different Patagonian activities, including walking, riding, fishing and hunting while surrounded by the wealth of natural life including pumas, Andes foxes, wild cats, armadillos, rabbits and red deer. Similarly, the skies are rich in birds, from condors, with wingspans of up to two metres, to the small hummingbirds.

The fishing is abundant in the numerous rivers and lakes and offers excellent fly-fishing. Depending on the season, guests can fish for rainbow trout, steelhead or brown trout. The most popular lakes are Los Juncos, Misterioso and Zapato which are located around 5 kilometres from the lodge. The fishing season for trout starts on October 20.  During the first few months of the season (October and November), the best fishing is for rainbow trout, which reach sizes of up to 5kg.

The red stag hunting season runs from March to May. A guide will accompany the hunters throughout the 5,000 hectares of the estate. The hunting in the wilderness of Patagonia is challenging and exciting. The herds have a large number of exemplary animals, including stags with antlers with 12 or more points.

Hunting

Excursion options are varied, and can be undertaken either on foot or by horse. The different circuits allow guests to admire the plentiful flora and fauna.  Horse riding excursions can be modified according the guests experience and energy. A Chilean cowboy (known as a ‘huaso’) accompanies and assists guests throughout the excursions. Huasos are expert keepers that look after the animals and the land throughout the year.
